This Starbucks inspired drink is my summer staple. After having innumerable venti-sized drinks and trying to recreate it in my kitchen, I've figured out the ratio and process. This iced shaken green tea lemonade is my go to and has received approval from all my taste testers. I hope you enjoy this summer quencher!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups of water

  • 4 cups of ice

  • 2 tablespoons of green tea or 3 green tea bags

  • 2 tablespoons of sugar

  • 1 lemon

Instructions

  • Boil 2 cups of water

  • Put it aside and place the green tea in it

  • After 20 minutes, strain the tea and add 2 cups of ice to the tea

  • Boil another cup of water and mix the sugar into it

  • Add a cup of ice to the sugar syrup

  • Combine the sugar syrup and the green tea

  • Squeeze all the lemon juice into the tea

  • Place it in a flask in the refrigerator for a few hours

  • Serve with a few ice cubes

Adjustments

  • Add the lemon peel to the flask for an enhanced flavour

  • The sugar can be replaced with honey, jaggery and palm sugar

  • For a stronger green tea flavour, increase the amount of tea and seeping time

About Me

Growing up in the colonial capital of India, Calcutta- I have been fascinated by culture, creative and culinary splendour since a very young age. Not only has this made me a keen traveller, but it has inspired me to learn about people, places and food. It has led me to experiment in the kitchen. Living between Boston and Calcutta inspires me and continues to shape my palate.
