5 tips to make your
Instagram post trend
Being a blogger is fun and engaging but growing your traction and reach is a hit and miss process as a beginner. With Instagram's ever-changing algorithm, it's difficult to deliver and get a high engagement, reach, maximise views and profile visits and most importantly convert viewers into followers. This guide includes EVERYTHING I do to maximise views to best utilise my Instagram handle (which you can check out using the button below). I went from 1500 to 15k followers within 8 months and all the tips shared played a mighty role in it all. Really hope these tips help you grow your Instagram handle!
Use Hashtags
Hashtags are the underplayed heroes.
They can make or break your post. I use a rough breakup within the 30 hashtags Instagram permits. I have outlined the same for the post alongside so that you can track my thinking.
Follow these steps:
-
Location: 5 hashtags
#singapore #pscafe #singapore_insta #singaporelife #singaporeig
-
Dish: 5 hashtags
#chocolate #chocolatelove #chocolatecake #brownie #brownies
-
Local food: 10 hashtags
#sgfood #sgfoodie #sgfoodies #sgfoodporn #singaporefood #singaporefoodie #sgfoodblogger #hungrygowheresg #burrplesg
-
General food: 10 hashtags
#food #foodporn #foodstagram #foodgasm #foodblogger #foodblog #foodcoma #foodie #food52 #foodbeast
Tag the location
Makes a gigantic difference because people who will be interested in your content may check out the place and your post will get direct interested viewership. This also helps a lot with presence because your post will stay linked to the location.
Use your analytics
Turning your account into a business account helps in many ways. The leading benefit is that it gives analytics that can be used to cement your goals. You can derive what content is most appreciated, most viewed and also see what is getting you the most engagement.
Think of catchy captions
Captions make a difference. They can define your engagement and the number of comments you receive. Think out of the box and use questions.
Questions that really work are:
-
Whom would you take to ____ _?
-
How is your ______ going?
-
What is your favourite _____?
Plan
-
Post according to your analytics (time of the day matters)
-
Try maintaining a colour theme throughout
-
Group accents of the same colour together
-
Stick to posting every day or on the same days of the week so that your followers know when to expect something new
