About Me

Growing up in the colonial capital of India, Calcutta- I have been fascinated by culture, creative and culinary splendour since a very young age. I’m most passionate about food, and how multifaceted it is. I think it’s a way I absorb so much about the world, choices, people and the ideas they share. It gives me an insight into taste, produce, geography and history. It makes me want to travel, try new combinations and preparations and find something new to learn about.

Since my formative years, I have had an absurd appreciation for unexpected things, from the odd habit of popping olives straight from the jar to finding solace in a warm bowl of miso soup. And from there grew my love for cooking, my time in the kitchen always proving to be therapeutic. Exhilarating and calming.

While travelling, I realised I always had a list to tick of places and dishes. More recently I have Google Maps to make me dart across ancient cities looking for a modern bistro or a man selling Banh Mi for precisely an hour a day. That’s food for me, something my days off, days working and days holidaying rotates around.  I hope to share my passion for food through the recipes I have created, the experiences I speak about, the city edits, the inspiration and all that I curate.
